Phil is GMC’s Spatial Data Manager, has over 28 years of experience in the Survey and Design industry and lives locally in Toowoomba.  He has a Bachelors degree in Surveying from QUT and joined GMC in 2020, four years after returning to Australia from a 17 year stint living overseas. During that time, Phil worked on such projects as Cairo Festival City, Dubai Metro, Dubai Festival City and various intersections along the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road in Dubai.  Phil also worked for 12d Solutions and honed his skills in software development.    Since returning to Australia, he has been involved in a diverse array of projects, all with their own degrees of complexity, including the modelling of the 98km Inland Rail P2N project,  113km of the Bravus CRN Rail Project, several highway projects, the Upgrading of 11 rail tunnels on the Toowoomba Range and Little Liverpool Range and the expansion of the Sunshine Coast Airport.

Phil is a great believer in never having to perform the same task twice and utilising his programming skills, makes the effort to automate and streamline repetitive operations.  This allows for any design changes to be recalculated and models reproduced with the click of a button.  He enjoys working closely with the client, the designers and the GMC field surveyors to develop models and processes that allow the completion of the project
